Biggest Loser? NOT!

I did lose 2 pounds. My partner lost 5! But, the lady who's had breast cancer and now has MS lost 7! If I'd been through all that and survived with sanity intact, I'm not sure I'd worry over a few stray pounds.
We are out the rest of the week for illness in the schools. Our school is the second largest in the county. Last week we were running at about 180 absent a day; this week a much more normal 40 or so, but apparently the elementary schools and the city high school are being hit now. Takes 20% for the state to let you treat it like a snow day. We did that Wednesday. I'm just thrilled to be out a few days. I've been incredibly behind since the whole north and south bound distress week!
I'm not sure how I'm going to handle the Gerst Haus on a diet. German food doesn't lend itself to moderation in my experience. Ah well...

Biggest Loser?

I've seen parts of the show, twice, maybe three times. Hard to remember what isn't commercials. But, I have a partner and I'm in a Biggest Loser competition. My partner and I are built fairly similarly, though she is quite a bit taller. On the slim chance (HA! GET THE PUN??) that we win, we will split $500. Nice incentive. I've not cheated yet, I'm back to the T-Factor, but I did have a head start - albeit before I weighed in the first time. Scott and I have been on the north and south bound distress this week. He thinks it was flu, I KNOW it was food poisoning. He doesn't want to admit that when you go to a friend's house for dinner and four of nine adults get sick that it might have been something you et. Especially when you all get sick within hours of each other. I've been over it now three full days, but I still haven't been hungry. I'm using that to my advantage to maybe get a grip on the gut.

For those of you who know where Bon Aqua is located, two of the tornado hits you are seeing on TV are just down the road in both directions. The third one skirted us and left other people's stuff in the yard. Not much though. Siding and marquee letters. I do have to tell on myself, if you read this in Tammie's comments, you can skip to the end now. When the storms were at their worst, I was just starting to get over the worst of the swivels. My mother's spirit rose up in me and I took a shower...and put on clean underwear...so I wouldn't stink if they found me dead in the wreckage! The same energy probably could have gotten me to the basement, but rational thought was just over the horizon at the time. Gotta love those maternal genes.

If I manage to lose any weight by next weigh in, I'll let you know - but so far I'm not feeling my inner Cindy Crawford.
