684 miles or 6000 miles...

Scott and I just finished a 684 mile (approximate - speedometer broke 28 years ago) on the motorcycle. We rode through Chattanooga to the Cherohala Skyway across the TN/NC border and then back across via the Tail of the Dragon. 311 curves in 11 miles. The Skyway is spectacular. The Dragon was actually a disappointment. For all it's hype, there are two great views of the dams in the mountains, but other than that it was just tiring as a passenger and work for Scott. The danger was very significantly reduced for us since we went right at supper time for the rest of the neighborhood. We only met 34 motorcycles and 24 four wheeled vehicles, which apparently is incredible for that road on a weekend.
After the ride portion of the trip was about to wind down (we went with friends) Scott and I went to a family reunion in Crossville. I've not seen some of these cousins in a good while, especially for a happy occasion instead of a funeral - so it was good. Even Scott enjoyed himself!
Lyn is having a great time in Italy. She's taken over 1000 pictures so far and she's only been gone 11 days! I'm sure it is going by fast for her. If you Facebook, check her out.
Speaking of Facebook, I discovered Aaron's status change there. He is in an exclusive relationship with a young lady named Jessica. I'm a bit fuzzy on other details, so I'm waiting to hear more about her. We don't hear from Aaron as often and he doesn't update as regularly, so it must be pretty good!
Pictures of our trip should be on Facebook sometime tomorrow. I'm going to start the download tonight. I've got a few over 500 myself and we were only gone 3 days!

  • Aaron was at my house for two hours on Saturday and ate supper with us...without a mention to me of Jessica. I do know that he and Nate were discussing dating when I happened into the living room. Hmmmmm

  • Sounds like a fun trip! I already looked at Lyn's photos. Made me homesick for Itlay! (Or anyplace that's not home where I have to go back to work today!) Another trip to Canada would be really good, too, except Laura might get tired of me being there too often! That Nigel is a sweetie though!
