The Trip that Wasn't

We left on our annual motorcycle trip about six hours ago. Stopping already? And with WiFi? Nope. We left the house just before 8:00 and luckily, had trouble with the bike before 9:00. Why luckily you ask? Well, it is somewhat like the three legged dog, not so good that we have to cancel our trip, but it is great that a) no screeching of tires was involved b) rescue was available from friend Jonathan c) it doesn't sound like it is a terminal problem - just one to put the trip out of time reach this time and d) that it happened one hour into a 900 mile trip instead of us being in Bristol, TN which was tomorrow's planned map marker. We also know that we like our new bike luggage, despite it being a bit contrary to initially strap on the luggage rack, and we know that the newly recovered old seat is better than the new seat- which with adjustments could be even closer to perfect. The trip is already being recast to spring break either before or after Lyn and Aaron come home. We still intend to take the same bike to Niagara for its and our 30th anniversaries in the next 18 months to 2 years.
Scott is off to nap - and I'm going to watch a movie and knit. Big surprise there, right? I'll post pics of this one. This baby sweater is just too cute for words.

  • Sorry you didn't get to do your planned trip, but I am so glad that if you were going to have trouble that you were still so close to home!

Enjoy your fall break knitting and reading!
